
COPA at MOP37 in Nairobi
The Thirty-Seventh Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer (MOP37) was convened in Nairobi, Kenya, from 30 October to 7 November 2025.
The MOP37 provided an excellent opportuntiy for representants from the COPA Secretariat and country members to exchange in person. For example, UNIDO, UNDP and GIZ representant (COPA Secretariat) where having informal meetings with COPA Steering Committee members Igobe (Botswana) and Leslie (Grenada), and several other COPA country members. COPA members from the private sector, academia and civil society also attended the conference, contributing with presentations and / or hosting side-events, assuring a good representation of COPA members and topics during the meeting days.
eia COPA Meet & Greet at side-event
The Environmental Investigation Agency (eia) hosted a side-events with focus on sustainable financing soltuions: "Sustainable Financing for ODS & HFC Bank Managmenet". The initial results from the eia report on "Evaluating Options for Sustainable Finance Action on ODS and HFC Banks", to be published soon, was presented. The outcome of the COPA Study on Global Banks of ODS and HFC (published earlier this year) was presented by Ellen Michel, Head of COPA Secretariat, in this session too. In alignment with their side-event, eia invited to a COPA Meet & Greet where COPA members could network and exchange in-person. Between the busy schedules of the week, this was a highly appreciated opportunity for COPA members to meet each other in a relaxed atmosphere.
